Backstreet boys- Everybody (Backstreet's back)
In this music video there is a very strong narrative, the boys in the band are telling a story from the very beginning and even through the music video. The video goes with Goodwins theory as there are many close-ups of the band members to make the audience feel like they are involved with the song/video. Also there is voyeurism through the lyrics 'am I sexual? yeaaaaah' and also the band members featuring topless and one even teasing a women whilst he is a vampire. You can tell what genre the band is through how corny the music video is, vampires, mummys, haunted house, even special effects and cartoons put into the video. At the beginning and the end of the video there is the band members acting, they open up the story and also close it, the middle being them singing and dancing- creating a strong narrative. Going with goodwins theory the Backstreet boys do sucessfully advertise themselves by having their bands name as the main part of the chorus 'Backstreets back'. It is like they are making a statement.
Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z- Suit & tie
Like the Backstreet boys video this video features mainly/all the artist. The video isn't as much of a story as the Backstreet boys video although there is a narrative to follow. Before going on stage the lyric is "Let me show you a few things." he is a cocky character, in his "suit and tie" He is also performing in a small club but when the camera turns to face him it is a very large stage. Showing that he has dreams.
